After the Buzzer: The Ace All-Star Party at The Heirloom

When the WNBA All-Star Game descended on Indianapolis this summer, Crystal Signature Events had the privilege of helping to keep the celebration alive well past the final buzzer. As Central Indiana’s premier catering and venue management team, we were honored to host the unofficial after-party of the weekend, the Candace Parker Ace All-Star Party, at one of our crown jewel venues, The Heirloom at N.K. Hurst.

More than just an after-party, this event was an immersive, high-energy celebration of women’s basketball, community, and connection. From curated food and beverage experiences to dynamic entertainment and a spirited dominoes tournament, Crystal’s team brought every detail together to create an unforgettable night.

Setting the Stage

The Heirloom, with its exposed brick, soaring ceilings, and warm industrial charm, was transformed into a stylish backdrop for this star-studded evening. Guests arrived to a red-carpet welcome, flanked by gold-and-black stanchions that framed the entrance. Inside, a custom “Hoop Wall” installation set the tone for the evening - a nod to basketball culture and the perfect photo opportunity as attendees checked in.

VIP lounge sets and cocktail tables were carefully arranged throughout the venue to balance intimacy with energy. Plush soft seating created inviting conversation zones, while sleek black draping defined service areas, ensuring flow and elegance. At the center of it all, dominoes tables became a lively hub of competition, offering guests a chance to play, cheer, and connect in a uniquely personal way.

Flavor That Fueled the Night

At Crystal, we believe food should be both a highlight and a conversation starter and the Ace All-Star Party menu delivered. The night began with passed light hors d’oeuvres that reflected bold, playful flavors:

• Carne Asada Steak Skewers with chimichurri and cotija
• Chicken & Waffle Skewers drizzled with honey sriracha
• Vegetable Spring Rolls with sweet chili sauce
• Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls with bleu cheese aioli
• Ginger Sesame Tuna Poke Shooters topped with mango pico and crispy wontons

As the night picked up, food stations opened to keep guests energized and delighted. A mini chicken taco station paired with a churro bar featuring an array of dipping sauces drew constant crowds. Later, a hearty heavy hors d’oeuvres reception satisfied late-night cravings with cheeseburger and fried chicken sliders, garlic parsley fries, short rib mac & cheese skillets, and black bean sliders for vegetarian guests.

And because no party is complete without something sweet, a robust, colorful candy station and a nostalgic popcorn bar kept the fun going into the early morning hours.

Signature Sips

Of course, the drinks were just as thoughtfully curated. A margarita specialty bar featured five unique creations, paired with top-shelf tequila and festive garnishes. VIPs enjoyed personalized bottle service, while full-service bars poured a mix of craft cocktails, champagne, wine, and beer to suit every taste.

Our bartenders and cocktail servers ensured that every guest, from star athletes to local supporters, felt taken care of, making the beverage program an essential part of the party’s vibrant atmosphere.

Energy, Entertainment & Atmosphere

The Ace All-Star Party wasn’t just about eating and drinking, it was about celebrating. As music pulsed through the venue, the dominoes tournament quickly became a centerpiece, drawing cheers and playful rivalries. The combination of upbeat entertainment and a laid-back competition added a distinctly personal flair that set this event apart from the typical after-party.

Lighting design, curated décor, and Crystal’s seamless service team brought the space to life. Gold carts adorned with fruit caddies and sparkling glassware added a touch of glamour to the VIP bottle service areas, while The Heirloom’s stage and dance floor gave guests the perfect place to keep the celebration going well past midnight.

Behind the scenes, our dedicated staff, including bartenders, servers, attendants, and managers, worked tirelessly to anticipate needs and keep the experience smooth from start to finish.
